How to identify the Version of all the installed Wordpress on a VPS or Dedicated Server in 5 minutes

Everybody managing a Linux server with tons of Wordpress installation need to face for sure a challenge when a security release is out.

During these years I figured out a simple command line able to give me a fast overview of all the outdated installations.

The command is

find . -name 'version.php' -path '*wp-includes/*' -print -exec grep '$wp_version =' {} \; -exec echo '' \;

I found it pretty powerful and useful cause allow you to solve lot's of problems before they will ever happen.

The best thing to do is to enter the webserver home directory and launch it.
